In about August 1990 Myself (Simon) (Drums), My Brother Jon (Guitar) and our friend Alex Scott (Bass) started our first band. Practicing in our parent’s living room on a Saturday afternoon when they went shopping.
Around the same time our next door neighbour Mark (Bass) and his two friends Tim (Guitar) and Nick Craske (Drums) were doing the same thing.
Both bands practicing at the same time, both playing metal covers and both competing with each other as to who could make the most noise.
With the possibility of a gig or two on the horizon a singer was needed. Alex knew Tim from the band next door and persuaded him to come and sing in our band, with the added bonus that Tim also played guitar.
Practices soon moved to a local junior school hall, thanks to a dodgy deal with the caretaker. This didn’t last very long though. We were accused of breaking a mike stand and were banned from practicing there.
